MEDIA EVALUATION;
IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT USE, DEVELOPE OR CHALLENGE FORMS OR CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA PRODUCTS?
My media product uses the typical media conventions, the masthead is at the top of the page, and all the important things on the cover are near a hotspot or along the route of the eye. It also is pleasing to the eye, according to the rule of thirds. I have used these conventions so my product looks appealing and professional, as well as being a cover people will look at and notice in the stands.
HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?
My magazine is pretty stereo typicical of a pop music/gossip magazine, mainly aimed at teenage girls, as it is mainly pink in colour, has a female, teen star on the cover, as well as the photo's being girly, with dresses and flowers as mise-en-scene, which enforces the notion that it is a girly magazine.
WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?
An institution that distributes similar products, because it would appeal to their specific target markets and they know that it is the sort of thing their audiences would like.
WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
My audience would be young teenage girls, as they tend to like pink, girly things, pop music, and gossip and news about stars, all of which is contained in my magazine. Also, it would be aimed at people who want to become famous, as there is the opportunity to enter a competition and become a star.

HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE?
I have attracted my audience by using a lot of bright colours, and also the most popular colours chosen by my target market in my survey, which was pink and white, colours most girls tend to like and find attractive and noticeable. The picture i have used is one that girls can also relate to, it doesn't look posed or fake, it looks like it could be someone they know, or a photo they could have taken themselves in their local park of their friends, which makes it more attractive to them, as they can relate to the cover star and feel more like they do know them, and not just want to know them.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
To produce my magazine, i used Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Photoshop, both of which i already knew how to use before creating my magazine, so i didn't really need to learn how to much while making my magazine.

LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IN TO THE FULL PRODUCT?
In my preliminary task, i used a black and white picture the cover photo, and i kept the background, which doesn't look very professional. Also, i used the same font for everything, which doesn't look very good. I also think there is too many colours on the cover, and not enough coverlines. The blue box at the bottom looks completely unprofessional and plain, it doesn't stand out and make you want to read what is in the box. In my final product, i have used different fonts to make some things stand out more, and others less, and also, i havn't used as many colours, so the audience isn't overloaded. There are a few more coverlines on the final product as well, making it more interesting for the audience to look at. the photo is also in colour and i have removed the background of the photo, making it look more professional and attractive. I have also included a barcode and a price, which i forgot in my preliminary task.
